How can I stop overthinking?

Trying to stop overthinking directly often creates more tension. The first part of any real shift begins with meeting what is already here.

Overthinking is usually a response to feeling unsafe, uncertain, or disconnected from the body. The mind steps in to fill that gap, circling and forecasting in an attempt to find resolution.

The mind is not the enemy, even if it can feel that way. It can be understood more as an old friend trying to keep you safe, although sometimes in ways that are no longer helpful.

The shift does not come from forcing the mind to be quiet, but from creating the conditions where it no longer needs to work so hard.

By returning attention to the body, slowing the system, and gently exploring what sits beneath the thinking, the mind naturally begins to settle.

It becomes less about stopping thoughts, and more about discovering the space in which you can observe them, rather than becoming them. From here, a natural sense of balance begins to return.
