So let’s keep it simple . . . what is it?
Mindfulness is defined as the capacity to bring our awareness back to the present moment and we normally do this by focusing on something like the breath or an object.

Most of us live up in our heads, disconnected from our bodies, living in the past or the future. From the moment we wake until the second our head hits the pillow, we find ourselves carried away by a noisy mind journey which keeps us totally in our HEADS and without realising is causing havoc with our emotional and physical well being! Without mindful awareness our ‘monkey mind’ works on ‘auto pilot’ and we have no real control over the thoughts we have, the type of stories we tell ourselves and the experience we create because of it.
Mindfulness is the practice of slowing things down, becoming aware of what’s going on in any given moment, turning off the auto pilot and learning how to reconnect with the present moment. When we do this we begin to see that there is the persistent chatter in our minds and also a silent witness observing this story. As we practice more, we start to understand how our own mind operates, what messages out body is giving us, and how our current story affects and shapes our very reality.
It is a scientific fact that our thoughts directly shape our physical experience - a stressful thought creates a stress response in the body and an imagined or perceived stress is no different to a real one, the brain knows no different! So it’s no surprise why so many of us are experiencing chronic health problems, anxiety and discomfort - our thoughts are literally making us unwell. Our thoughts rise up from our deep held beliefs and perceptions, most of which are hidden in the subconscious realms of the mind – but we can learn to access them through mindfulness techniques and hypnosis too.
Mindfulness is a practice we take with us everywhere, not just something we do at one point in the day with candles and incense! Slowly and patiently with practice and intention we can learn to bring more awareness to what we are doing and begin to take control of our lives, and regain control of our mental and physical health.
In our one to one sessions we work on introducing the basic tools for mindfulness practices, through breath work and visualisation, so you can begin to incorporate it into your every day life. Mindfulness brings us freedom, peace, connection, well being. I truly believe it is an amazing foundation to guide us to find balance and meaning in the world we live in, as we connect more deeply with who we really are.
When we use the mind in its conscious and creative capacity that’s when the magic really happens. As Carl Jung said, “Until the unconscious becomes conscious it will continue to direct our lives and we will call it fate”. Let’s get conscious, let’s regain control of our monkey minds and switch off the auto pilot.

After the 4 week intensive programme, you will have all the tools you need to incorporate Mindfulness practice into your everyday life. You will also receive free recordings and resources to use.
I attended a Reiki level I & II weekend course led by Serap and had a brilliant time. Serap is a great teacher and listener. I had a pleasure to attend a Mindfullness Workshop in Oct-17. It was an empowering experience and a very calming, insightful six -hours for me. I cannot praise Serap highly enough. Pacing, delivery, passion for Reiki and healing and level of her knowledge are excellent. She has extensive knowledge on possible healing techniques that could be applied. It was great learning from Serap this weekend. I felt well looked after. She has lovely caring energy. The Manual she created for the course is brilliant . It is easy to use and very well structured. I am very happy I was guided to get my Reiki Master / Teacher Attunement from her.
